If you are interested in volunteering with Caritas Anchor House and making a difference to people experiencing homelessness, this may be a role for you!

We need a personable individual to support the Foodbank and Donations department. This is a great opportunity to gain an insight into the work of our department, whether you’re interested in a change of career, want to learn new skills or support our charity through volunteering.
This is an ongoing volunteer role which would be suitable for perspective volunteers who wish to gain experience working with in food bank and in the catering and hospitality industry. The volunteer role is flexible, may be suited to someone who is looking for a long term placement, however all applications are appreciated.

About the role:

  • Caritas Anchor House is looking for further support within our Foodbank and Donations sector. This includes the following... 
  • Collecting and distributing donations to residents from the foodbank. 
  • Undertaking any other related support delegated by the supervisor in line with the responsibilities of the post.  
  • Record keeping i.e. temperature control of fridges and freezers 
  • Interacting with residents during food bank opening hours 

About you:

  • We're looking for Foodbank and Donations volunteers to support us that have:
  • Full UK driving licence 
  • Good listening and communication skills 
  • Level 2 in food safety
  • Good organisational skills 
  • Strong time management skills
  • Great people skills
  • Open to volunteering in a busy environment
  • A commitment to our charitable mission and values

We'll ensure you receive:

  • Support from CAH during the volunteer placement 
  • Any other information or training you will need to be successful in your volunteer role.
