Do you have a large car or small van and live in or around the London Borough of Newham, where Caritas Anchor House is based?
We are missing out on vital donations of food from local supermarkets as they cannot deliver and we do not have a driver available, and would really value a Volunteer Driver to help with these collections. All donated food goes to the previously homeless people that now call Caritas Anchor House home.
We would primarily be seeking support in the evenings and weekends. The driver will be required to lift and handle the food donations into and out of the vehicle in line with health and safety regulations, and to undertake appropriate training if required.
All drivers are required to have a valid driving license, and if you are using your own vehicle you will also need valid insurance and MOT (if applicable). We would be able to reimburse mileage expenses at the standard HMRC rate of 45 pence per mile.
If you do not have a suitable vehicle but do have a driving license we would still like to hear from you, as we have a small van that can be used. If using our vehicle, you will be covered by our insurance. Where our vehicle is provided, the Volunteer Driver must ensure that they use it for Caritas Anchor House purposes only.
If you are interested and able to volunteer, please get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 020 7476 6062 and asking to speak to HR.
We look forward to hearing from you!
