This East London based charity has an exciting opportunity for a Community Development Officer to join our team and bring their talents to a vital organisation.

Caritas Anchor House is an award winning charity based in the London Borough of Newham, providing residential and life-skills support for single homeless adults. Our driving mission is to ensure that those who walk through our doors grow in confidence and move towards leading independent, self-fulfilling lives by providing education, guidance and personal rehabilitation.

We also deliver therapeutic community-based services to support our wider community to build resilience, empower members of engage with and navigate local services with confidence, and to improve social health and coping methods through informal support networks.

The Community Development Officer will be responsible for the management and development of the charity’s community resilience and development strategy, to improve individual and community wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing Caritas Anchor House’s community resilience and development programmes and social prescription model, in line with the organisation’s vision, mission and business plan.
• Working with members of the local community to deliver and develop programmes and activities that improve individual and community wellbeing.
• Working actively to secure partnerships with key local service providers to streamline and develop collaborative programmes, tailored to community needs and identified gaps.

The role is full-time, on a fixed term contract of six months. The salary is Band 4, £26,000.
