Learning and Development Academy

The Learning and Development Academy is an organisation grown out of Caritas Anchor House, which offers training programmes to enable those from all walks of life to nurture their self-belief, raise aspirations and fulfil potential.

The Learning and Development Academy (LDA) builds on the award winning work and expertise of Caritas Anchor House – which has been recognised by a host of national awards for its essential work and training courses it provides. These include national and regional awards from the UK Skills National Training Awards for Service Delivery, Best Individual Trainer and Inspiration in Training and Education. By harnessing the skills of Caritas Anchor House, the LDA is able to provide an exceptional level of training, which is underpinned by a humanitarian mission.

The LDA programmes are based on the timeless principles of great teachers, such as Stephen Covey and Dale Carnegie and aim to improve communication, personal responsibility, decision making and leadership skills, and will leave a legacy in communities across the whole of the UK.

The academy has a core of 50 trainers and facilitators comprising a range of expertise and backgrounds and has so far worked with over 50 schools, parishes, charities, youth organisations and businesses.

The funds raised through the Learning and Development Academy will help Caritas Anchor House to continue to provide support and vital services to those who have faced social exclusion and have often been left behind.
