Vote for us in Tesco!

25th May 2018
For the next month you will be able to vote for Caritas Anchor House in the Tesco Bags of Help scheme. We need your help to be in with a chance of winning up to £4,000!

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores awarded to local community projects.  Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive the cash award, and Caritas Anchor House is on one of the charities you can vote for over the next month!

We are looking for a cash boost to enable us to begin a project where residents can volunteer to cultivate a new green space to grow fruit and vegetables, which can then be prepared as meals. Growing your own produce can be hugely satisfying and therapeutic, and we hope to help improve confidence, physical health and wellbeing as a result of the project.

“This project would be wonderful and encourage both healthy eating and active participation from our resident group. They are keen to get started, so we hope to get as much support as we can from Tesco customers,” said James McNicholas, Trust Manager at Caritas Anchor House.

Voting is open now and customers can cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop!
