TPP Presents: The Search – at Caritas Anchor House

30th November 2016
This month, Caritas Anchor House hosted a Job Search workshop with our partners from TPP Recruitment.

Staff from TPP Recruitment - an employment agency which specialises in charity recruitment - came to Caritas Anchor House to deliver the workshop which addressed the difficulties of searching for a job. The workshop focused on the importance of staying positive when faced with long-term unemployment, unsuccessful interviews and knock-backs, and the staff shared their top tips for interviews and CV writing, as well as offering one-to-one advice.

Joanne Harrington of TPP Recruitment said, “Today has been a great day. We met a great bunch of people at Caritas Anchor House and look forward to delivering our next session”.

At Caritas Anchor House, we recognise that education, training and employment are vital stepping stones in both preventing homelessness and helping those who have lost their home. We support our residents to engage with the opportunities available at Caritas Anchor House which can build their self-esteem and increase their skills so they can re-entre the workforce.

Keith Fernett, Chief Executive of Caritas Anchor House, said, “I would like to thank TTP Recruitment for delivering this employment workshop. With partnership working, Caritas Anchor House is able to offer the best support for our residents to overcome homelessness and achieve sustained independent living”.

In the last three years, Caritas Anchor House has supported 185 residents to secure paid employment – this is 27.5% of our residents, nearly double the industry average of 14%. Read more about out education, training and employment services here.
