Team Caritas Anchor House take on RideLondon 2017

27th April 2017
On Sunday 30 July 2017, four Caritas Anchor House staff members will be getting on their bikes and taking part in the RideLondon 2017, to raise money to support our vital work.

Gearing up to take on the challenge are James, Victoria, Malik and Sian, who work across the organisation in Fundraising, Business Services, Reception and the Personal Development teams respectively.

RideLondon is now in its fifth year and was established to celebrate the legacy for cycling created by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This year’s race will see our team cycle a combined 251 miles, starting at Queen Elizabeth Park in Stratford, before heading west towards Hampton Court and then south into the beautiful Surrey Hills. It finishes on The Mall, complete with a well-deserved hero’s welcome for all riders.

“The dedicated staff at Caritas Anchor House are passionate about best supporting those who come to us for help, and this is a great example of them going above and beyond their call of duty,” said Linda Maytum-Wilson, Acting Chief Executive.

"Our team of riders have been saddling up and training very hard ahead of the ride and are eager to reach their target of £1,000 and create better futures for our residents.”

The money raised will support our vital work with homeless and vulnerable people in East London. Our driving mission is to ensure that those who walk through our doors grow in confidence and move towards leading independent, self-fulfilling lives, by providing one-to-one support, personal rehabilitation, education and training.

Every donation we receive, great or small, is truly appreciated and has the ability to make a big difference to someone’s life.
