Sharing best practice

7th April 2010

Maurice Price, head of the development team at Anchor House has recently visited The Quays, a Riverside ECHG hostel in Kent, to explore ways of working together to share their knowledge, information and best practice.

The Quays, located in a deprived area of Sittingbourne, faces similar economic and social issues to those faced by Anchor House in Canning Town - yet it has pioneered a national sports initiative to get disadvantaged people involved with sport and has also won an award for outstanding achievement for its work with drug users.

Anchor House is hoping that through developing best practise sharing initiatives like this, it will dramatically improve the lives of the people it supports. We're also very much looking forward developing this relationship further in the near future when we'll be welcoming  representatives from the Quays who will be visiting us to learn about our education and training programmes.  They are also keen to learn from the whole of the Aspirations programme and how we foster and nurture ambition among residents.
