Meet the People: Andrew, our new Corporate Partnerships Officer

29th July 2019
This month, we have welcomed Andrew Warburton to the team. Andrew has taken on a new role at Caritas Anchor House, and will be heading up our corporate partnerships.

Tell us a little about yourself Andrew

I’ve been a recruiter specialising in fundraising for the past couple of years, and have been eyeing up the vacancies I have been filling for a while, waiting for the perfect moment to move into the sector myself.  Caritas Anchor House gave me the opportunity and the dream role, and I couldn’t be happier to be here. Outside of work, I am a musician and a bookworm.

What will you be doing in your new role?

I have joined as the new Corporate Partnerships Officer, which means I identify businesses who I think will have an affinity with our cause and a motivation to support our work.

Thereafter, I work with those businesses to establish synergised partnerships whereby corporates can fulfil their charitable intentions, their employees can feel inspired and engaged by our work and, crucially, we manage to raise funding for specific projects and core activities at Caritas Anchor House.

Why are partnerships with corporates so important?

Partnerships with corporates can be (and should be) multi-faceted to make sure both parties get as much as possible out of the relationship. In addition to corporate donations, these partnerships raise the profile of our organisation, bringing our work to new audiences and networks, creating opportunities for gifts and pro-bono services to assist both our residents and our service delivery teams. They also enable us to engage directly with the staff of these organisations, who will hopefully be galvanised by the partnership to engage in their own fundraising activities.

Basically, in the dream scenario, everybody wins!

Why did this role appeal to you?

When searching for a role in the charity sector, homelessness was the cause I felt most closely aligned to. I have supported homelessness charities previously, and even worked briefly with Caritas Anchor House just over a year ago in a voluntary capacity. The work being done here is massively inspiring and, obviously, very necessary.

I have joined Caritas Anchor House at an exciting time, with some great ideas in the pipeline, and, frankly, I’m just the happiest little clam to be able to contribute to our future growth and success.

If you’d like to find out more or work with us, Andrew would love to hear from you. He can be contacted at
