Working at the heart of homelessness

Director takes on Annapurna

Our News in Brief

Director takes on Annapurna

23rd September 2014
At Caritas Anchor House, a homeless charity in the second most deprived borough in the country, sometimes it can feel like we have a mountain of challenges to overcome.

Budget cuts, heavy demand for services and the increasing complexity of service user needs all take their toll, but this November our Director Keith Fernett has decided to exchange one mountain for another and is trekking across the foothills of Annapurna with four friends.

The trek in the Himalayas, Nepal, will be a tough one, but it’s for a cause that’s very close to his heart. Over the past ten years, Keith’s worked long and hard to turn this charity around and into the nationally acclaimed organisation it is today and, with the second stage of building work approaching, he wanted to make a special contribution to its completion.

To sponsor the team, please visit their JustGiving page (www.justgiving.com/AnnapurnaChallenge) or send a cheque addressed to ‘Caritas Anchor House’ to FREEPOST – HOMELESS, Caritas Anchor House, 81 Barking Road, London, E16 4HB.

Any donation you can give, great or small, would be fantastic and will go towards giving our residents the best gift of all - the hope of a better life.
