Caritas Anchor House gets quizzical

3rd February 2017
Last week, residents and staff put on their thinking caps for Caritas Anchor House’s first Quiz Night of 2017.

Over 50 residents attended the event, organised as part of our Community Resilience Programme, and answered questions on varied topics including current affairs, sports and Caritas Anchor House. The evening was led by the Quiz Master with help from the Chief Judge – both Lifestyle Architects.

After several rounds of questions, the quiz was won by the team from the fifth floor at Caritas Anchor House, who were presented with a team trophy and round of applause from their competitors. The evening closed with a performance by the choir, formed in 2016 to help to build confidence, and act as a welcome break from the challenges in daily life.

The Quiz Night was the first in a series of resident social evenings, which will be held on the last Thursday of each month.

“The Quiz Night was a really great event” said resident John, a member of the winning team. “I’m really happy our team won and it was a great opportunity to spend some time and have some fun with other people living at Caritas Anchor House.”

“At Caritas Anchor House, we believe that through working hard our residents can transform their lives, but we also believe in having a bit of fun.” said Keith Fernett, Chief Executive of Caritas Anchor House.

“The quiz night also helped to strengthen our residents’ team working skills and build stronger community relationships, and we’re looking forward to future events.”
