Caritas Anchor House Choir Performance

30th November 2016
On Friday 25th November, the Caritas Anchor House Choir performed at the Christmas lights switch-on festival in Canning Town, Newham.

The choir was founded on the premise of helping to build confidence, and the distraction from the challenges in daily life. Formed just last month, the choir is made up of a group of homeless residents living at Caritas Anchor House, and they rehearse once a week.

Invited to perform by the London Borough of Newham, who had arranged the event, they choir sang to over 200 members of the community, and the songs included ‘Joy to the World’, ‘Ding Dong’, and ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’.

One member said, “It was great to feel a part of the community and be able to sing with them. It was fun and engaging, and we all had a great time!”
