In just over a month’s time, four staff members from Anchor House will be taking on the Prudential RideLondon Business Relay. On Sunday 4th August, Derek, Malik, James and Jamie will cycle an impressive 25 miles each in an effort to raise money for Anchor House’s Home and Hope Appeal.

“The whole team is really looking forward to the race and we’ve all been training hard,” said Team Captain, Derek Pitt. “Knowing that we’re raising money for such a fantastic cause makes it all worthwhile and I feel privileged to be working alongside such dedicated colleagues.”

Held for the first time this year, RideLondon promises to be a first-class festival of cycling and will be broadcast live on TV in both the UK and overseas, to be seen by an audience of millions. Starting at the Queen Elizabeth Park in Stratford, the route will take participants right through the capital and into Surrey’s beautiful countryside, before finishing in style on the Mall in central London.

“I’m thrilled at the enthusiasm and commitment shown by my staff,” said Director, Keith Fernett. “They’re a true inspiration and I’m confident they’ll do brilliantly.”

The event is free to watch, and there are many excellent vantage points along the route, so make sure you come and cheer on our team.

You can also show your support by sponsoring the team on their JustGiving page, which can be found here. Remember – sponsoring each team member 10p a mile works out at only £10!
