Anchor House shortlisted for Centre of Social Justice Award 2013!

8th August 2013

Anchor House is honoured to announce that we are one of 18 finalists for the annual Centre for Social Justice Awards. These awards aim to identify effective poverty fighting groups from across the UK, and will award six small voluntary groups and other local projects a grant of £10,000. Winners will be the organisations that best display innovation and effectiveness in addressing the causes of poverty, turning lives around and reversing social breakdown.

“I’m thrilled that Anchor House has been shortlisted for a Centre for Social Justice Award,” said Director, Keith Fernett.

“Being based in the second most deprived borough in the country, our work is sometimes very difficult and can be thankless, so some external validation is fantastic. Every day our staff do an outstanding job in inspiring our otherwise homeless residents and championing their cause so it’s great that this work is recognised outside of the charity.”

The winners for the Centre of Social Justice Awards will be announced in four months’ time, so watch this space in November 2013.
