Anchor House was runner up and Highly Commended in the category of ‘Social Champion’ at the Charity Times Awards 2013 last night.

Described as a charity ‘exploring new paradigms of service delivery, achieving ground-breaking results, and contributing to the intellectual debate about the future of service delivery’, Anchor House was nominated as an organisation that has consistently delivered outstanding service to its service users, been clear in its social changing goals, and demonstrated all round excellence.

Hosted by comedian Marcus Brigstocke, the awards were held at the prestigious Lancaster London hotel and saw over 150 charities gather together to celebrate the outstanding work that is done in the charity sector.

“We are extremely proud to have been nominated as Social Champion and are delighted to receive this recognition for all the work we do here. We’ve always been proud to be a high achieving organisation and this is a testament to that,” said Director, Keith Fernett. “We’d also like to say congratulations to Big Issue Invest on their win, and we look forward to next year.”

This award is the latest in a proud history of accolades for Anchor House, which has previously been recognised as a National Centre of Educational Excellence, with awards for Best Use of Technology and Financial Management, and a commendation for Charity Principal of the Year.
